- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 1/4 cup onions chopped
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup tomato paste
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning dried
crushed
- 1/16 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 ounces ziti (1 cup)
- 2 ounces mozzarella cheese
low-moisture part-skim, shredded (1/2
cup)
- 1 tablespoon parmesan cheese grated
This recipe makes 4 servings
Preheat oven to 350°. In a 10-inch
skillet over medium heat, brown beef with
onion and garlic, breaking up meat as it
browns.
Stir in water, tomato paste, herb seasoning
and pepper. Stirring occasionally, simmer
for 5 minutes or until thickened.
Meanwhile, cook ziti according to package
directions; drain. Stir ziti into beef
mixture. Spoon into a 1-quart casserole.
Sprinkle with cheeses. Bake for 20 minutes
or until cheese is melted and mixture is hot
and bubbly. |
