Family-Favorite Taco Salad Recipe

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 envelope (about 1 1/4 ounces) taco seasoning mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 (12-ounce) package tortilla chips
  • 1/2 head lettuce, shredded
  • 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 (2 1/4-ounce) can sliced ripe olives, drained
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese (4 ounces)
  • 2/3 cup dairy sour cream

This recipe makes 6 servings.

Cook and stir ground beef and onion in 10-inch skillet until beef is brown; drain. Stir in seasoning mix (dry) and water.

Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer uncovered 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Spoon beef mixture onto chips. Top with remaining ingredients.
