My husband taught me this one and my kids LOVE it!!! My husband named it “Junk”.
1 lb. hamburger meat
16 slices of american cheese (or whatever you have on hand, feel free to mix it up with the cheese).
6 med. potatoes
Oil for frying
Garlic Salt
Pepper
Directions:
1. Peel & wash potatoes. Cut up into french fries.
2. Turn on oil for frying. Once oil is hot add potatoes, cook till done and drain on paper towel (or brown paper bag, do not add salt).
3. Place 1 lb hamburger meat in pan and season with garlic salt and pepper. Cook till done and drain.
4. In casserole pan cover bottom of pan with hamburger meat. Lay a layer of cheese on top of the meat. Place all cooked fries on top. Cover with remaining cheese. Bake on 350 for about 10 – 15 min. just till the cheese is melted. Enjoy!

Junk could be a new morphing meal at our house.
I can envision doing this as individual servings where certain ones like green chilies, others want 1,000 Island dressing and grilled onions (In-N-Out serves something like that without hamburger), while others want it as is with lots of salt.
Thanks for the easy, simple idea. I think we will try it soon.
My son and I eat plain unspicey foods most of the time. I can see us both eating this. And even better, having some left over so I don’t have to think of something to fix the next day. Thanks!
I do the same recipe but i call it tater tot casserole.
U put the 1lb hamburger on the bottom of a cake pan, then a can of cream of mushroom, then can of cream of celery, then tater tots on top, and cheese then throw it in the oven.
