I found a Boston Butt pork roast on sale at the grocery store this week and cooked it up in the slow cooker to turn it into pulled pork. My wonderful husband filmed the whole thing and I thought I’d share it with you. Sometimes it’s easier to watch another cook than just read a recipe.
Here’s the recipe. It’s very simple.
Pulled Pork from the Slowcooker
1 large pork roast
1-2 tsp garlic salt
1-2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp liquid smoke (optional)
Put the roast in your crockpot. Sprinkle with seasonings and cook on high for 5-7 hours or on low for 12 hours (overnight).
The roast is done when it meat starts to fall apart and you can easily shred it with a fork. Take the meat out and discard the liquid.
We like this as barbecue sandwiches (meat and your favorite bbq sauce on a bun), but also use it in burritos, casseroles, soups, with gravy over rice.
