I make my own grease cutting, non streaking, smells good general cleaner that I use on my windshield, my film tinted truck windows, my stove top, my bathroom mirrors, my sliding glass door, etc. I also spray a small amount on a damp towel and wipe the inside of my microwave.
The recipe is as follows:
2 Tablespoons of Johnson’s Baby Shampoo. (some off brands don’t work as well so should use the brand shown)
Mix this with one quart of tap water.
You’re all set. I have a spray bottle of this in every room for all of my glass and mirror needs. I also clean my crystal with this and it is safe to use on window film.

Johnson’s Baby Shampoo is also great for removing makeup!
and some people use this on their BABYS!!:(
wondering if you need to rinse after using? Any problem with sudsing?
would this work in your vehicle for windshield washer fluid or would there have to be something added so it would not freeze..
I use a mix of 1 Tbsp of dish liquid per quart of water to clean anything that has a greasy film. The dish soap has a grease cutting agent in it for the dished. I also use it as a spot treatment for my hubby’s work cloths. Just spray it on and let it sit while you fill the washer. Works great.
I make an all-purpose spray cleaner by putting 1 teaspoon of dish detergent and 2 teaspoons of borax in a 1 quart spray bottle, Then I fill the bottle with very hot water, put the lid on and give it a good shake to dissolve the borax. This cuts through grease and it’s disinfectant, as well, so it’s good in both the kitchen and bathroom. True, there’s no fragrance, but since I react to fragrances, I can live with that. If you really want something that’s scented you could add a drop or two of lavender oil. You would, however, need to shake the bottle each time you use it to disperse the oil properly.
May I also add….that it works really well on those windows that haven’t been washed in who knows how many years! I did one window with the store brand window cleaner and then tried this solution for the next. Results…store brand took several paper towels worth and 3 wipings per side. This stuff…one swipe! Still can’t believe I used this stuff on my kids when they were babies…but then again…that might explain a few things too! Blessings all!
