Delicious Beans and Potatoes

Make mashed potatoes. While they are cooking take cooked pinto beans, drained, cooked kidney beans, drained, or a mix, or leftover bean soup or leftover beans that kidney or pinto beans are in them, and put them in a processor until relatively smooth. May add salt, spices, especially chili powder &/or cumin. Heat, then turn off burner and add grated mozzerella cheese. Serve beans over mashed potatoes. I enjoy serving this with stir-fried veggies, and add them to the beans and potatoes.

I have been to your site before and I have enjoyed your site. When did you start charging money? I know that it costs money to run a website, but when you start charging, we as web searchers start getting just a little nervous about a scam. I wish you would have found a better way to pay for your website because I use the $15 dollars a month to actually feed my family.

      Hi Jennifer,
I haven’t started charging money for the main HBHW website. I just decided to open the HBHW Club for those interested. It’s in addition to this site and I will continue to add to this free site and am still publishing the weekly newsletter free of charge.

      Warmly,
      Susanne – The Hillbilly Housewife

All I can say is that when there’s nothing but basics left in my cupboard, I come right here to figure out what to feed the brood. I’m here today because payday isn’t until Friday and the cupboards are bare and we only have about $25 to last us for the week for a family of 4. It always feels good to know I can come here when I just feel like the rest of my financial life is falling apart. I love your site. You have rescued me many times over!

I love this site, and am so glad I found it. At our house money just keeps getting tighter and I need to find ways to make do with less. I have found many useful ideas. Also I see alot of receipes that I will be able to use to keep the grocery bills down. I have to learn to make meals with almost no meat and lactose free. So it is so nice to come here and see things that I can do. Thank you for making this site and to all the ladies that post such useful ideas.
