Happy Friday! School started Wednesday and we’re slowly but surely getting back into a routine. As you know, I love to knit and spent the last few days, knitting up a few little “back to school” things and thought it would be fun to share them with you today.
Sometime last week my daughter mentioned that she’s like some new knitted socks for the new school year. I had just gotten this fun yarn called “Monster Kerfuffle” hand-dyed by Amanda from GnomeAcres.com and it was perfect. Nice and colorful with just enough orange in it to make me think of Fall and Halloween.

On the day before school started, one of my favorite knitted toy designers (Susan Claudino) came out with a new pattern. I thought it was perfect for my daughter to carry in her book bag and make for a nice surprise for the first day to school. I named him Buster the Backpack Buddy and he’s a huge hit.
I’m sorry the picture is so dark. This was taken early in the morning on the first day of school. I keep forgetting to take a better one in day light.
Here’s a link to my Ravelry project page for this little guy. He’s made from sock yarn and turned out to be the perfect size to stick in her bag.
