Free Kindle Cookbooks January 28th
Happy Monday Morning! I was on a roll today and grabbed a bunch of free kindle cookbooks. I’m going to grab another cup of coffee and my kindle, curl up on the couch and decide what recipes to try first. I also came across two money saving books that look like interesting reads. As always, make sure you check that the book you are about to download is still available for free. All of them were free as of the time I’m writing this, but things can change throughout the day.
Don’t have a kindle? Amazon has a variety of Kindle Apps to read these books on your computer, tablet or smartphone.
By the way, did you my latest kindle cookbook yet? It’s all about winter soups and stews, a staple in my meal plans during the winter months. You can download it on Amazon for $2.99. Amazon reviews of the book would be much appreciated.
Skinny Potatoes: Over 100 delicious new low-fat recipes for the world’s most versatile vegetable
Potatoes are a great (and frugal) pantry staple. You can use them as a side, breakfast food, in soups and stews or even as a main dish. The recipes in this book will help inspire you to use more potatoes and to fix them in delicious and healthy ways your family will love.

Do you ever fix nothing but appetizers or snacks for dinner? I do, especially if I’m in the mood for something part of my family doesn’t like. I can fix two or three different appetizers or snacks and everyone is happy.
Need a healthy breakfast or a quick snack to help you through your busy afternoon? Try a smoothie.

When boneless, skinless chicken breast goes on sale, I stock up and freeze anything I can’t use right away. There are so many different ways to cook it into healthy, family-friendly meals. Here are 37 great recipes to use this type of meat.
Put your pressure cooker to work with these 50 recipes that will have dinner on the table fast.

Marshmallow Pops: Recipes and Tips for Tasty Treats
This book caught my eye because these look like the perfect treats to make with the kids for Valentine’s Day.
Bonus Posts:
I came across two books today that aren’t cookbooks but look interesting. Both are about saving money, something I’m always working on.
How to Manage Your Money When You Don’t Have Any
How to Save Money at Home: A Room-by-Room Guide to Cut Spending
Did you know that you don’t need a kindle device to read these books? If you decide to buy one, I recommend this basic model. I’ve had one for quite some time and can highly recommend it.
I will do my best to share more free kindle books with you regularly as time permits. Subscribe to the blog or like the HBHW Facebook page to get updates each time I add more free reads.

Thanks! I downloaded two of these. Without even opening the one on marshmallow pops, I can assure you that they are easier than cake pops. I made a couple of hundred for a birthday party (with the help of dear friends) and wondered if my back would recover!

I have a question for you. If this is about saving money how are we supposed to be able to afford all the latest gadgets such as smart phones and such to be able to use the Kindle Apps is the first place? Kindles are expensive and I think there is something wrong about posting kindle only recipe and information books. I know Kindles are helpful and so forth but not everyone has one. I can barely afford printer paper for my much used printer. This is very frustrating to me that so many books are now on Kindle only. Thank you for letting me have my say. I do like your site and read it often!

Thank you, Linda, for asking. One reason many books are being offered only as ebooks (on Kindle) is because the price can be so much more reasonable than a printed book. The price ideally will help get these ebooks into more hands. I know when I see an ebook priced at $2.99 as opposed to the same book in print form priced at $8.99, I seriously consider whether I NEED the printed version.
But, your real question is about not being able to afford the gadgets for Kindle.
The good news is you don’t need a Kindle or any other “e-reader” to read the ebooks you download.
When you look on the right side of the Amazon.com sales page for the ebook you want to buy, you’ll see a bar that you can choose to download the ebook to your computer, laptop, or what’s called The Cloud, so you can get it anywhere you log in. So, if you have a computer, you can download a Kindle book. Amazon makes it pretty easy with simple steps to follow.
I hope this helps, Linda. I understand and appreciate your concern and I know many readers will benefit from this question. Thanks again.

Thanks for clearing up the question about needing a Kindle to get these books. I’m not very computer savvy, so it took me a few minutes to figure out how to download the ebooks to my computer. There are three “clickable” links on the right side of the page of the book you’re buying on Amazon. Here’s what they say –
Deliver to: Kindle Cloud Reader
How buying works.
Available on your PC
The first one I bought (downloaded) I clicked on the “Available on your PC” and it downloaded and opened right on the laptop I was on. I don’t remember at the time if I had to open a Kindle account, like with a log in and password. But if I did it, it must have been pretty easy.
The second one I bought I clicked on the “Deliver to: Kindle Cloud Reader” That was really easy, too. I THINK that means I can go to any computer and log in to Kindle (I must have an account now that I think about it) and my ebook will be there.
Anyway, I don’t have a Kindle but I’ve downloaded a dozen or more ebooks to my laptop or The Cloud. And like I said, if I can do it, it has to be pretty easy.
Thanks Susanne!

Many books are only free on the day they are posted, some are available for a few days, but most of the time you want to grab them the day I post them before they go up to their regular price.
